I was doing some homework on this and think I struck good news.

IBM announced last month they are buying PureEdge.

IBM has a commitment to Linux, so they just might encourage PureEdge expansion.

Since Macintoshes now use a Unix-like system, efforts to expand to
Linux should also benefit efforts to expand to the Mac.

Repeat: I *think* this is a good omen.  But I also read my fortune cookies...
