Re: Direct Awards to Researchers Linda Campbell 25 Aug 2005 12:11 EST
We do the same. On the National Geographic award a PI received a few years ago, NGS sent her a payment request form at the time of award. It asked her to specify whether she wanted to request full or partial advance payment, to whom the check should be made payable and where it should be sent. The PI asked before submitting the proposal (bless her!) if the University would administer an award, so the proposal went through our approval process then. She also showed me the payment request form before returning it to NGS. Everything worked smoothly. We simple call the funder to advise them that the check needs to be made out to PHI, and return the check for a replacement, made out correctly. Word of caution: this caused somewhat of a dilemma since the PI included institutionally supported cost share in the proposal, yet the institution had no means of controlling or monitoring the funds received. Ideally, the check should have been signed over to the University. Thanks in advance for your help. ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== This message scanned for viruses and SPAM at SCU (MGW2) ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ======================================================================
