ASSISTANT PROVOST

THE POSITION: The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) invites applications for Assistant Provost. This office is responsible for pre-award, academic compliance, and limited post-award responsibilities. The Assistant Provost will report to the Senior Associate Provost and will be expected provide proactive leadership to expand a small but growing program of sponsored programs and research.

QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate (ABD considered); qualified for faculty rank in an academic department at UCA; strong managerial and communication skills essential; five years working in a sponsored programs office or equivalent; an understanding of federal regulations and compliance requirements associated with grants, contracts, foundations, and corporations; demonstrated ability to mentor persons from diverse disciplines; and a familiarity with funding sources.

THE UNIVERSITY: UCA, founded in 1907, enrolls over 10,000 students in programs leading to undergraduate degrees in 113 areas of study, 35 masters degrees, educational specialist, and three doctoral degrees. Faculty actively engage in numerous disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations, often including other universities and agencies. THE COMMUNITY: UCA is located in Conway, a progressive and growing city of 50,000, home of three institutions of higher education and a public school system ranked among the states best as well as excellent private schools, and is located within 30 minutes of Little Rock. Residents have easy access to a variety of fine and performing arts, handicraft and folk culture, and pristine wilderness areas such as the Buffalo National River. Real estate is moderately priced, and taxes are relatively low.
