Grants Administrator I

Job Description:  Full time permanent 12 month position.  Render
technical assistance to faculty/administrators in the development &
preparation of proposals, contracts, cooperative agreements, etc. that
represent and protect the interests of the University of South Carolina.
Review funding applications to ensure accuracy and adherence to sponsor
guidelines and state and university policies. Negotiate terms of
contracts and grants with sponsoring organizations. Interpret, implement
and monitor the policies of federal, state, commercial and private
non-profit agencies as they impact the management of grants and
contracts. Determine appropriate budgetary & financial management of
awards based on sponsor regulations and guidelines. Acquire & maintain a
working knowledge of the research/scholarship of 100-200 faculty members
in assigned area of responsibility. Assist in development of research
admin policies and procedures, training workshops, and other duties as
assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires a bachelor's degree and three years
business, human resources, grant-in-aid or public administration
experience; or equivalency.

Salary Range:    $33,061 - $40,000
