*Assistant Vice President and Controller*

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the
Assistant Vice President/Controller is responsible for all activities of
the Controller’s Office, Budget Office, and the Office of Sponsored
Research for the Desert Research Institute (DRI).

 _REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE _

 * Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or
 closely related field
 * Ten years of full-time relevant experience in the areas of
 financial accounting, reporting, and administration

 * Demonstrated four years experience in responsible
 leadership/supervisory positions
 * Certified Public Accountant
 * Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of computer
 applications and accounting systems.
 * Evidence of ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
 within time constraints
 * Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply governing policies,
 procedures, rules regulations
 * Demonstrated success in streamlining business management and
 accounting processes and procedures
 * Experience with development of complex budgets and financial reports
 * Experience in preparing audited financial statements in accordance
 with GASB and working with auditors
 * Requires the ability to exercise sound judgment in the decision
 making process
 * Requires strong leadership, organizational, analytical and
 interpersonal communication skills

 * Experience with Federal grants and contracts
