Position available at the University of Florida Health Science Center at
Jacksonville.
Administrative Coordinator of the Institutional Review Board (03)
Responsibility for all IRB -03 Board Meetings, i.e. pre and post meeting
activities including serving as secretary for all meetings.
Ensuring fully documented compliance with all applicable rules and
regulations. This includes obtaining, disseminating and maintaining all
applicable federal, state and institutional rules and regulations as well as
developing and maintaining IRB procedures in compliance with all such
guidelines.
Developing plans and assisting in implementing programs to inform
investigators and IRB members of the required procedures and formats for
research proposals that involve human subjects.
Providing campus training on the UF IRB process.
Assisting in the preparation of and administering of the IRB -03 operating
budget.
Being responsible for records maintenance (including agendas, minutes,
research protocol files) and retrieval as well as ensuring that IRB records
reflect verifiable compliance with all applicable guidelines.
Managing communication with the WIRB for specified research protocols, which
involves file maintenance for the linkage between the two IRB offices in
order to ensure compliance with the necessary regulations.
Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years
experience in the administration of an Institutional Review Board. Must
also possess outstanding written, oral, interpersonal and organizational
skills and a dedication to providing service. Needs to be knowledgeable of
PC applications, medical terminology, research design, statistics and
academic and regulatory functions. Physical ability to move large bundles of
paper and heavy boxes of paper is also required.
