Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible to the Director, Research Compliance
for coordinating and providing administrative support to the
Institutional Review Board and Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee, with compliance and regulatory issues related to research.
Additionally, this person will assist faculty, students and staff in
preparing protocols for compliance certification, review protocols to
identify potential compliance issues, and assist in the development of
policies and procedures to ensure compliance. The position will be
responsible for processing new protocols and coordinating the review
process, determining difficulty level of protocols  issues, assisting in
preparation of protocol actions, assigning reviewers, delineating
revision requirements, reviewing investigators  responses, eliciting
reviewers  assistance or refers to Director for decisions. Gather
information and background material in response to inquiries/issues
raised, responds to requests for information regarding IRB and IACUC
review, and include advising researchers on regulations, policies,
procedures and guidelines for protocol applications, consent forms and
other related documents. Scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence
and tracking and monitoring protocols. Additionally, this person will
inform the Director of issues raised by the IRB, IACUC or investigators,
and serve as back up regarding preparation of Board minutes and agendas.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a related area of specialization and two years
related experience or Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of
specialization and four years of related experience. Experience required
in any combination of the following: IACUC administration, IRB
administration, compliance protocol review, research subjects
protections regulations, committee administration.Note: This position is
funded through the Division of Research and Graduate Studies. Position
requires a valid Florida driver s license.

Deadline: December 29, 2004

Salary range: $38,000 - $50,000.
