Position Status: Full time with excellent benefits package (100% FTE)
Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
Responsibilities:       The Sponsored Research Administrator will be
responsible for learning the guidelines associated with Federal and
State agencies as well as specific restrictions addressed by foundations
and private corporations. He/she will perform administrative duties such
as preparing grant information and budgets into the Financial Record
System (Banner); preparing Banner Fund Request form to establish fund
for project; adhering to established internal policies and procedures;
reviewing daily expenditure requests that are above signature authority
of the SRA Technician II; communicating with administrative, financial
and technical representatives of sponsoring agencies; monitoring
financial and technical activity of subcontracts; preparing budget
modifications.
Minimum Qualifications:       BA in Business Administration, Accounting
or related field, or the related experience; or four years progressively
responsible professional experience in an institute of higher education,
research institution, or related accounting experience; excellent
written and verbal communication; excellent computer skills including MS
Word and EXCEL; capacity to function calmly and efficiently in stressful
situations which require tact and diplomacy; a high level of flexibility
and analytical ability. The ability to report to work on time; follow
directions from a supervisor; interact effectively with co-workers;
understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; accept
constructive criticism; and for managers and supervisory personnel to
lead and manage others.
Preferred Qualifications:   Experience in grant/contract administration
or development. Familiarity with Federal/State of California guidelines.
Experience monitoring budgets and cash positions.
