Re: Internal Reporting on Grants & Contracts Data

I am new to my position at TCC as Director of Grants and Sponsored
Programs - there have been quite a few things which were not being
handled properly - such as the Time and Efforts only covered the time
onthe project it should cover all of the person's time. They have no
way here to determine how much a person may be getting from grants and
how much they are getting under their regular contract - some people
were getting overtime and no one had approved it. They were confused
about purchase release - they were paying a 9 month's faculty summer
money calling it purchase release and not getting any funds from the
funding agent. They assumed that if a person had a none month contract
and often taught a full load in the summer that they were 12 month and
could get full release for 12 months contributed from the college on a
project. There has been confusion about being released to work on a
grant and also getting overload. This is partidularioly difficult issue
for community college where most faculty get an overload to teach an
extra class each semester. I would love to go to your session - can you
send me the conference info - I may not be able to go - but I would liek
to try.
