I've seen a lot of discussion on this listserv topic and lots of
guidance on 9 or 12 month appointments but nothing on appointments of
less than 9 months [i.e., 8-month]. I would be interested in learning if
anyone has faculty on appointments of less than 9 months and if so, what
do you consider to be advantages and disadvantages to your institution?
