We will be going to Banner soon, for accounting. We are thoroughly committed to InfoEd for all our pre-award, and we also have Human Subjects, Animal Subjects, and will soon be coming up with Proposal Preparation and Protocol Preparation. This will provide us with a comprehensive, integrated and fully electronic pre-award and received award system. Therefore we will not be thinking about the Banner pre-award. We will have to develop certain interfaces so that Accounting can take the InfoEd data as input to Banner. InfoEd should be able to provide a starting point for that which we will have to tweak for our specific installation. I'd be delighted to hear of others' success or discouragement with the Banner pre-award, and any ideas about moving information from a different, but much more complete, preaward database to Banner.
