We use a very simple excel sheet....but it works in most cases and
routinely easy to dump into most federal agencies forms which can be
less detailed then what we require.

Our institution is considering the use of a standardized budget
template(s)(excel spreadsheets) for faculty use in the proposal
process. We are interested to see what types of pre-formatted budget
templates other institutions have developed.  If you have examples you
can share, please post them here or e-mail them to me directly. We are
looking for a more consistent approach and would appreciate your help.
