G.g "Find" vs COS, SPIN, or IRIS

May I expand on this useful topic a bit?
How many of you are using Grants.gov for the "Find" aspect. I have
been getting good emails with funding opportunities but then they are
only Federal. Because all of the Federal programs are in Grants.gov
(are they???) I guess the question is what private source has the best
coverage of private sources of funding. I wonder if any of the
services will try to save money by dropping their Federal coverage and
go to all non-federal. Otherwise there is what seems very unnecessary
duplication of effort for Federal opportunities.
My VP recently asked me if people were finding the G.g Find function
useful.

I would very much like to learn what group members think of that
function. So as not to clog up the bandwidth of the group, please send
directly to me and I will post a summary. Have you used it? Is it
useful or not? Comments? xxxxxx@umich.edu
Thanks a big much.
By the way, I have heard that G.g "Apply" has had 18 applications since
November. Anyone on the list included in that number? Want to
comment.

Dear RESADMers,
Faced with an ever-rising COS subscription rate, we are in a quandary
whether to ditch it altogether and
switch to a more economical funding opportunities database. Any
thoughts you'd like to share on the merits
of COS vs. SPIN vs. IRIS would be most welcome.
We are a mid-size, predominately undergraduate teaching institution
with 350 faculty members and 5500
undergraduates.
Many thanks.
