RESPONSIBILITIES:       The incumbent will assist the University in
achieving its goal of maximizing external support for its educational,
research, technical assistance and public service activities. Specific
duties include: coordinating development and submission of research
proposals; monitoring grants and contracts; identifying potential
funding sources; monitoring compliance with research requirements of
Federal, State, and private sponsors; maintaining official grant and
contract files; managing information resources; assisting in the
development of grant proposals, including budgets; and performing other
duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's
degree and a minimum of three years of experience in research
administration. Must have excellent communication, organizational and
interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills and the ability to
work well with people and establish effective relationships are
required. Must have a working knowledge of federal regulations
associated with academic grants and contracts. Must be detail oriented,
have the ability to work well under pressure, and to reconcile differing
points of view in a confidential manner. The ability to clearly and
concisely express ideas and positions, both orally and in written form
to all levels of research professionals is required. Proficiency in use
of personal computers and MS Office are required. Knowledge of
Peoplesoft is preferred. Must be willing to perform complex as well as
routine tasks.

SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
