Director, Office of Research & Sponsored Programs
Position Summary:  Responsible for overseeing all pre- and post-award
financial and administrative activities supporting externally-funded
projects - about 600 proposals each year resulting in 400 awards with a
total value of $55 million.  Acts as liaison for ORSP staff with PIs, Deans,
and other research administrators.  Member of Research administration team;
reports to VP, Research.  Manages 13 professional and administrative staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
·       Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
·       Progressively responsible experience in a leadership position (e.g.,
associate / assistant director) in sponsored projects administration in a
research university setting
·       Substantial management experience
·       Strong interpersonal and managerial skills; ability to work effectively
with a wide range of constituencies
·       In-depth knowledge of university grants administration
·       General knowledge of applicable Federal regulations
·       Familiarity with automated systems that support research administration
·       Proficient communicator with effective listening, oral, and written skills
·       Appropriate background checks

Preferred: Management oversight of similar functions (both pre- and
post-award) and staff size; experience implementing Enterprise Resource
Planning system (PeopleSoft or equivalent) grants module; experience as a PI
