Business Manager
Reporting to the departmental administrator, the candidate has overall
responsibility for both grant applications and administration coming
from many sources. The Manager will serve as a liaison with principal
investigators, granting agencies, the Office of Grants and Contracts at
the University and affiliated departments and institutions. Primary
responsibilities include management of subcontracts, clinical trials and
processing notices of awards. Must be able to disseminate information to
faculty and support staff in a timely manner and produce ad-hoc reports.
Identify problems or potential problems, bringing them directly to the
attention of the appropriate person. The Manager should have expertise
in Federal and non-Federal grants and contracts rules and regulations.
Will supervise two other staff members and assist the departmental
administrator with day to day office operations.
Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four
years experience in a similar position required. Advance degree may
substitute in part for experience requirements. Experience in non-profit
or higher education areas greatly desired. Strong analytic and
problem-solving abilities; excellent interpersonal skills. Able to
develop and manage diverse funding.
Participation in medical surveillance required. HIPAA Compliance
training required. Pre-employment billing compliance clearance required.
