Key position that works with faculty in all phases of pre and post award
of both sponsored research projects and complex federal contracts.
Prepares budgets and budget justification, assist in proposal and
progress report preparation. Advises principal investigators on grant &
contract regulations, insures compliance with all appropriate VCU, state
and federal regulations. Oversees financial management of all awards
including, but not limited to, tracking payroll & cost share, preparing
internal budgets & reports, approving all expenditures. Supervises one
staff member.

Prefer degree in business or related field, Certified Research
Administrator (CRA) certification, and university work experience. Must
have strong working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on the advanced
features of Excel, extensive financial management experience of local,
state, and federal grants & contracts, and development of federal
contract business proposals.  Must be able to work with minimal
direction, be a good problem solver, effectively manage frequent changes
in work assignments and meet deadlines.  Effective oral and written
communication and organization skills a must as are good attention to
detail, reliability and strong customer service. This position is a
