Director of Proposal Development - New England Research Institutes
New England Research Institutes, Inc. (NERI) is a for-profit company that
specializes in public health research and clinical trials management. The
Director of Proposal Development is a key management position responsible
for identifying potential funding sources, identifying internal and external
resources to develop proposals; scheduling and monitoring timelines for
timely submission; and facilitating input from functional areas. The
Director manages the process to assure consistent and efficient methods are
applied to proposal generation, including budget preparation.
In this hands-on position, the Director will oversee department operations,
including managing and mentoring department personnel in the preparation and
production of proposals, as well as managing the departmental databases.
The Director advises the Vice President on issues relating to externally
supported activities and policy development. The Director must foster
excellent relationships with internal investigators and project directors,
as well as external government funding agencies, industrial sponsors and
other funding sources. Partnering with investigators and project directors,
the Director of Proposal Development must have the ability to work within
tight deadlines and lead the process.
Prior experience must include management of proposals and budgeting; a
Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) with 8+ years experience in
proposal development or a similar capacity. Experience working with federal
grants and contracts, particularly agencies within NIH is required.
Knowledge of Clinical Research funding and contracting with industry is
preferred. Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheet
applications and internet resources is also required.
