** High Priority **

Dear Peter,

We just had a quality assesssment visit from OHRP last month.  One of the things that they told our president was that there should be a budget for the IRB office.  We also cobble our salaries from different accounts out of the research office.

Our chair is paid 30% time, but he is the only one.  We are asking for release time (10%) for our 11 faculty members, and funds to pay our three community members.

1. Does your school have an identifiable IRB budget?  Here the salary of the
one IRB staff person is in the budget for the sponsored programs offices,
but there are no other identifiable IRB costs such as photocopying, travel
to ARENA or NIH seminars, etc.

2. Do you pay any IRB members do you pay, and how do you pay them?
