Director, Office of Research & Sponsored Programs
Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing all pre- and post-award
financial and administrative activities supporting externally-funded
projects - about 600 proposals each year resulting in 400 awards with a
total value of $55 million. Day-to-day management of 13 professional and
administrative staff. Reports to VP, Research.
Required: Masters degree; minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible
experience in a leadership position in sponsored projects administration in
a research university setting; demonstrated success in analysis,
negotiation, organization, training, supervision, teamwork, and operating
budget development; in-depth knowledge of university grants administration
including research agreements, material transfer agreements, and responsible
conduct of research; general knowledge of Federal regulations governing
sponsored project administration, including OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, and
A-133; Federal Cost Accounting Standards; and Federal Acquisition
Regulations; familiarity with automated systems for grants administration
and funding opportunities; ability to perform essential functions identified
