Pam . . . this is how we operate.  We eliminated the signature of the VP
for Academic Affairs years ago.  On our internal routing sheet we have
the PI's dean, department chair, sign off, then the research
administrator, then Dean, Graduate Studies (probably going to eliminate
this . . . really accomplishes nothing, since if sponsored programs
signs off (me, as director) she signs off . . . just that I report to
her), and then the VP for Business and Finance, because here on this
campus. . . .he is the one responsible for the fiscal issues, and
assurances . . . most important thing to the university.  If the dean
and department chair sign off . . .no reason for Academic VP to do so.
