We use the control number assigned to the application and then add S1 for
the first subcontract, S2 for the second, and so on.

At Cleveland State University we typically use five letters of the last
name and numbers - we would then take one letter off and add an A, B, etc.
- something for Dr. O'Connor would be Oconn05 - the subs would be
Ocon05A and Ocon05B. etc.
