This issue has come up a couple times in provate emails to me in the last 4
or 5 weeks, especially regarding Job Postings, so I'll cover it here in a
brief note.

In the event that you cannot view attachments sent to the list, here are a
few things to try:

If you are a DIGEST subscriber, the attachments will be inaccessible in the
digest email.  To view the attachments, go to http://www.hrinet.org and
access the list archives.  You will be able to access the attachment via
the archives.

If you are a regular subscriber, try setting the MIME setting (email
xxxxxx@HRINET.ORG with the command in the body of the note:  SET RESADM-L
MIME ).  This may help your mail client decipher the attachments.  This
setting is now the default setting for new subscribers, but if you've been
around for more than about 2 years, this setting may NOT be set on your
subscription.

One note about the web archive - - in order to access attachments, you have
to set your list password.  The web site will lead you through this, but it
does take a couple minutes to do for the first time.

Additionally, if you are sending attachments in your RESADM-L messages,
please try to keep them small.  Our ListServ will bounce your message back
to you if the attachment is too large (for some reason, 300k jumps to
mind).  We have it set this way due to complaints a few years back from our
service provider when some list members were forwarding around 3MB PDF
files and they were going to all 1100 members.
