Description of general responsibilities:

Serve as frontline personalized point of contact with faculty and staff for
purposes of assisting in locating, applying for and obtaining funding up
through and including negotiation of contract and awards. Review proposals
for compliance with VCU, state and sponsor requirements. Advise faculty and
staff of needed revisions. Review awards for acceptability of contractual
terms. Negotiate and resolve unacceptable terms with sponsor. Draft and
negotiate agreements. Work with various contractual funding instruments
including grant, cooperative agreement, contract, subaward, modification,
interagency agreement, etc. Member of office team in planning and
implementing VCU's ERA system. Formally and informally train VCU faculty
and staff on issues to all aspects of Sponsored Programs Administration.

Qualifications:

BA or BS required. Advanced degree or commensurate experience preferred.
CRA preferred. Knowledge of multiple and changing sponsor and government
policies and guidelines and ability to interpret and apply them. Strong
written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate budget to
described activities. Familiarity with common office computer applications
and ability to learn specialized application.
