Re: Progress Report on No cost Extension Rose-Mary Barstad 24 Apr 2003 16:20 EST
I posed this same question to NIH/NIMH last week. This is the email response I received this morning from Jane Z. Lin, Grants Management Specialist: "An annual progress report is due at the end of every budget period, regardless whether the grant is being extended (Title 45 part 75 of the Code of Federal Regulations). However, if extended, the FINAL PROGRESS REPORT, THE FINANCIAL STATUS REPORT AND FINAL INVENTION STATEMENT must be submitted within 90 days of the expiration date of the project". Based on the above, I will send notification to the grants officer we are exercising our right under expanded authorities to extend the grant and the PI will send in an annual progress report. This means that at the end of the original project period (before the extension) no progress report is to be submitted to the NIH, just the request for no-cost extension. Is this correct?
