Re: Progress Report on No cost Extension Baumann, John 24 Apr 2003 13:45 EST

That is correct -- although it is technically, I have been told, not a
"request". Here is what I send to the grants management officer

The expiration date for the above referenced grant, awarded
under expanded authority, is date. Please accept this letter as formal
notification that we intend to exercise our privilege, under expanded
authority, to a no-cost extension for 12 months, i.e., until date. This
is necessary to complete the originally approved project objectives.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any
questions or need further information, please contact me at your
earliest convenience. You can contact me at 816.235.1303 or
xxxxxx@umkc.edu.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Progress Report on No cost Extension

Hello -

Just looking for verification -

On a no-cost-extension of an NIH R01 (under expanded authorities), the
final progress report is delayed until the new end date.

This means that at the end of the original project period (before the
extension) no progress report is to be submitted to the NIH, just the
request for no-cost extension.

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Alex
