Re: Progress Report on No cost Extension Landorf,Kenneth R. 24 Apr 2003 13:42 EST

As long as it is the initial extension, and you are required to submit directly to NIH for same. Most institutions have "expanded authority" to extend for up to 12 months one time internally, and only a notification to NIH of same is needed.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Progress Report on No cost Extension

Hello -

Just looking for verification -

On a no-cost-extension of an NIH R01 (under expanded authorities), the final progress report is delayed until the new end date.

This means that at the end of the original project period (before the extension) no progress report is to be submitted to the NIH, just the request for no-cost extension.

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Alex
