replying to listserv posts

Dear Colleagues,
For some of us who receive the messages of the listserv in the daily
digest form, the lively conversations like the one that occurred yesterday
weighing the merits of advance degrees in job requirements turn into an
unwieldy morass to sift through. When the poster appends a message to the
top of an ongoing conversation, the entire thing gets added to the daily
digest. Yesterday's digest arrived with a file size of 339K and required
scrolling through to find the wonderful nuggets of insight buried in the
3rd, 7th, and nth rerun of all the earlier posts. I hope I didn't miss
anything. If you are inclined to efficiency, could you please just
include the subject title in your reply, or perhaps the one or few lines
you are particularly responding to, and delete the rest?
Sincerely,
Catherine Senghas
