Yes, I'm finally hanging up my spurs -- but not immediately.  My formal
retirement date is 11/1/04, but with judicious use of leave time, my last
productive day will be about 6/30/04.  When we find someone good to move
into the job, I'll take a "Special Assistant to the VP" or similar
position, to accomplish some other things before becoming really
retired.  I'll be retiring on 40 years of state service -- though some of
that is "buying" military time.

We are looking for someone who is well versed in the research
administration aspects of the responsibilities, and who brings strong
service skills and a commitment to assisting the faculty grow VCU's
sponsored program activities.
