The Alaska SeaLife Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to marine
research, rehabilitation and public education is seeking applications
for the following:

Research Administrator

This position is responsible for managing the administrative functions
for the research programs at the Alaska SeaLife Center.

Responsibilities:  Assists Science Director and Program Managers in
budget preparation for research projects.  Makes budget adjustments as
program changes.  Projects quarterly cash flow and costs.  Compiles
reports from financial information.  Monitors research spending levels
to aid in meeting expenditure expectations.  Oversees reconciliation of
accounting reports to verify accuracy.  Assists Science Director and
Program Managers in submitting grant proposals and issuing request for
proposals.  Establishes and maintains reporting schedules for grants and
research projects.  Develops and monitors grant and contract tracking
system including receiving proposals, initiating contract preparation,
and compiling necessary documents.  Assists in the development and
implementation of processes and procedures for project management
including support information and orientation for principle
investigators, fee schedules, logistical review, and IACUC
requirements.  Includes a wide range of general administrative support
duties and supervision of the Research Administrative Assistant.

Requirements:

Degree in finance/business/accounting or related field with 4 years
experience in a related position.  Ability to plan, organize, evaluate,
and maintain confidentiality of executive level administrative tasks;
ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written matters;
ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff,
researchers, volunteers, and the general public; able to work
independently and pay close attention to detail as well as able to work
under pressure and multi-task. Advanced computer skills including Excel,
Word, and Access experience.  Some Solomon experience preferred.
