Grants Administrator
The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences of Western Kentucky
University is searching for a Grants Administrator.
The Grants Administrator's primary responsibilities are in providing grant
related support services to faculty within the college. (The College contains
nationally accredited P-12 teacher preparation programs at the undergraduate
and graduate levels, and a strong Psychology department, at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels.) Major responsibilities for this position
include coordinating with faculty and administrators on pre- and post-award
matters, aiding faculty in budget writing, and providing guidance for new
faculty in the college on grant related activities. The Grants Administrator
will work closely with the College's Associate Dean for Administration and
Student Services.
Required qualifications include an earned bachelor's degree or higher in an
appropriate discipline, 2-5 years of grant administration experience,
including budget preparation, and strong technical skills, such as working
with electronic databases, word processing software, and spreadsheets. In
addition to these requirements, the applicant must have strong interpersonal,
presentation and writing skills, the ability to work with a team including
college, school, research center staff, and the offices of Sponsored Programs
and Grants Accounting, and the ability to work in a deadline-oriented
environment. Recommended qualifications include evidence of the ability to
work with interdisciplinary teams, knowledge of the technical aspects of the
grant submission process, such as NSF FastLane, experience with finance
accounting systems, such as Banner, and grant writing experience. Starting
date of July 1, 2003.
