At UM this should be treated as a sponsored project with internal approvals
and recording in the proposal and award data base by the grants office. It
would be then be reported to the Regents as part of the Volume of Research
by the VP Research. Finanacial management would be by the Sponsored
Project Accounts office (VP Finance). It would also be recorded in the VP
Development donor's data base, maybe get a letter of thanks from the
university president, and will be reported to the Regents by VP Development
as part of the "Gifts to the University from Foundations." Every body gets
a piece of the action.
