Associate Dean of the Graduate College
Bowling Green State University is seeking applicants for a full-time
Associate Dean of the Graduate College. Qualifications include substantial
administrative experience, preferably related to the promotion of faculty
research activities, a demonstrable record as a researcher, an
understanding of the complexities of the requirements for externally funded
programs and university compliance, and a commitment to collaborative,
participatory decision-making. Responsibilities include serving as an
advocate for high quality research and scholarship among both faculty and
students, and to play a leadership role in promoting graduate student
success, and to enhance the relationship between graduate studies and basic
and applied research. The Associate Dean will play a major role in
developing a strategic plan for graduate education and future research
directions at BGSU; working to improve graduate education and promote
academic excellence at BGSU; enhance recruitment, increase diversity,
ensure student success, and enhance professional development; contributing
to on-going efforts to improve our system of financial aid to graduate
students; overseeing graduate program review and assisting with graduate
program development, including assuring program compliance with OBR
guidelines and national best practices; and working to improve policies
related to graduate education. The salary is negotiable within Bowling
Green State University levels for rank and position and in keeping with the
experience of the individual selected. Selected candidate must have proof
