Has anyone worked with this sponsor before and if so, have you been able to
negotiate their insistence on having the agreement governed and construed
in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. They were
agreeable to many of the changes we requested but this is a final sticking
point. They have indicated that they have funded 20-30 universities and to
their knowledge we are the first to object. I realize we have all heard
that many times but it would be nice to hear from someone who has worked
with them before. We seem to be walking away from many more agreements
these days because of onerous terms and conditions that sponsors refuse to
negotiate. That isn't exactly the intent of our office......so if you have
a suggestion (including "drop the change" ;-} ) I would appreciate it. Thanks.
