Position Available-Coordinator, Research Programs & Services, Office of Research Affairs University of Florida Health Science Center, Jacksonville Position Title: Coordinator, Research Programs & Services Position Number: 638970 The Coordinator, Research Programs & Services for the Office of Research Affairs at the University of Florida Health Science Center, Jacksonville, is a professional staff position responsible for supporting faculty and staff with their research related activities. There are currently over 200 faculty members and over 300 active grants at the College of Medicine at Jacksonville ("COMJ"). Responsibilities: Will assist with the daily receipt of all grants and research contract proposals in the COMJ. Performs review of all grants and contracts to ensure accuracy and adherence to administrative and budgetary regulations and requirements. Will negotiate industry-sponsored agreements with [mostly] pharmaceutical sponsors. Would prefer applicant to have knowledge of University of Florida, state and federal rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to extramural grant and research contracts. Will assist with the training of COMJ faculty and staff in pre-award (and some post) research procedures. Will regularly review and prepare material for the ORA web site. Will provide information on new research funding opportunities to the COMJ faculty and staff and notify them of changes to research-related policies. Must have extensive knowledge of federal grant programs, particularly NIH. Will be responsible for learning the COMJ faculty research interests and combining this with the knowledge of available grant programs in order to assist with funding advice. Will assist COMJ faculty and staff in the development and preparation of grant proposals (no grant writing). Generally serves as a source of research-related information. Will assist with the establishment of a Research Council to oversee research lab usage and proposal review. Will act as the liaison between the Council and the Dean's Office. Will lend support with the establishment of a Conflict of Interest tracking system for Jacksonville Research faculty. Additionally will assist with the development of a research database for COMJ faculty biographical sketches, other support information and publications. Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related area of specialization and three years related experience.
