Re: Newsletters Mary Watson 13 Nov 2002 11:05 EST

VSU provides all electronic information via our web site, COS and GRC
Grantsearch. We do send a list of interesting funding opportunities each
month to the Trailblazer - the University-wide newsletter. This goes to all
staff and faculty and it costs us nothing other than the time to put
together whatever we want to put in it. We can use up to one full page of
the publication. I can include articles of interest (short) or notes from
the office, or just a list of funding ops. This works really well and kind
of covers the need to have something in print that says we exist but the
real work goes on electronically.

Subject: Re: [RESADM-L] Newsletters

Eleanor,
WVU's Office of Sponsored Programs produced a paper newsletter of
funding opportunities for several years. About three years ago, the
office went totally electronic, having decided that the newsletter was
not cost effective (time, personnel, printing, responses to items in
it). Announcements now go to faculty through SMARTS (Infoed
International, Inc.) and the Web site.
