Bush Administration and OHRP-FWA
Baumann, John 23 Oct 2002 17:13 EST
For those whose responsibilities include Human Subject Protection,
today's daily edition of the Chronicle of Higher Education reported:
* THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION has questioned the legality of an
agreement that the government has asked many researchers
conducting studies involving human subjects to sign as a
condition of receiving federal funds. The agreement was
prepared by the Office of Human Research Protections, whose
director announced his resignation last week.
The agreement to which they are refering is the Federal Wide Assurance.
The article also states that the administration may examine the Quality
Improvement program also instituted by OHRP.
