New Position Opening Niccole Rodriguez 23 Oct 2002 16:19 EST

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
GRANTS AND CONTRACTS

The Foundation for the Children’s Oncology Group is a 501(c)(3) public
benefit charitable foundation, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees,
founded in 1989. The FCOG is the legal and fiscal agent for the Children’s
Oncology Group. Its mission includes support for multidisciplinary
laboratory and clinical research of international scope and advocacy for
the needs of children with cancer. It is an established Federal grantee
organization responsible for the submission and management of applications
and awards for COG-wide activities from Federal and private sources.

The Office of Grants and Contracts Management is seeking a highly
motivated, experienced individual to complete our team. The position of
Associate Director will have responsibility for overseeing a combined
portfolio of approximately $50 million in sponsored research. Our
research in childhood cancers is funded primarily by the National Cancer
Institute and pharmaceutical companies. The incumbent will manage the
proposal review, approval, and submission process, as well as direct the
negotiations of a complex subrecipient process. We are located in the San
Gabriel Valley area of Southern California and serve over 250 institutions,
primarily in North America, as the grantee organization for the Children’s
Oncology Group. We provide consortium agreements to approximately 500
investigators per year. Excellent customer service is our goal.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree (MBA preferred) and five years
experience negotiating, preparing, and processing grant and contract
proposals, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from
which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Must have strong
oral and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and
understand federal regulations and operational policies of sponsored
programs. Attention to detail, multi-tasking, working under stress,
without daily supervision, while maintaining a sense of humor are high
priorities in this position. If you’ve read this far and are interested in
a challenge, you just might be the one for us! Please contact us to
discuss your interests and ours.

Resumes may be sent as a word document to xxxxxx@nccf.org, or you may
contact Niccole Rodriguez or Jennifer Settlow at the SRA meeting.
