Successful candidate will collaborate with the Director, Institutional Advancement colleagues and numerous individuals across campus, to advocate mutual interests between Clarkson and its partners within the corporate and foundation constituency. Responsibilities include identifying, cultivating and soliciting corporate and foundation funding sources; networking with peer institutions to benchmark activities; and working with faculty, administrators, trustees and key volunteers to further the needs of the University. Institutional Advancement staff enjoy a team environment and success in a thriving $70 million Campaign for Clarkson as of June 30, 2002, we have met $66 million of a $70 million goal. One alumnus in 12 is a senior executive or owner of a company, making corporate interaction a high-wide-and-deep strength of the institution. The University has also made considerable progress in its foundation base including procurement in May 2002 of the largest gift in Clarksons history. The CFR team has fostered successful outreach to the campus community and participates in program positioning and marketing functions as part of stewardship and new donor initiatives. In April 2002, the Corporate and Foundation Alliance honored the University and its SPEED program (Student Projects for Engineering Experience and Design) for an "exemplary effort to improve teaching and learning in undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education. Members of the Clarkson community are also recipients of the 2001Boeing Outstanding Educator Award, the 2002 IBM Linux Scholar Challenge, and first runner-up for the 2002 National Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Education Award. While Clarkson is a nationally ranked research institution, everything we do begins and ends with students who live and learn in a highly personalized, close-knit residential community. Academic programming offers some 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students career-focused programs in business, communication, engineering, health sciences, liberal arts, science and physical therapy, as well as distinctive interdisciplinary programs.
