The University of Illinois at Chicago ("UIC") seeks a talented research
administrator for the position of Assistant Director, Office of Research
Services ("ORS").  The Assistant Director will assist in developing and
implementing research administration policies and procedures and in the
day-to-day management of the UIC Office of Research Services.  ORS is
responsible for the review of grant and contract applications to ensure
they conform to applicable federal, state, sponsor and university policies
and regulations, for contract negotiations, for assisting faculty members
in preparing grant and contract applications, for responding to questions
from the program staff of sponsoring agencies, and for providing university
leadership with timely information on research productivity at UIC. The
assistant director will also be an integral part of the team implementing a
state-of-the-art, web-based, electronic proposal preparation, review, and
submission system.

The UIC Office of Research Services is a stimulating, fast-paced, highly
collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have well-developed
research administration qualifications, strong interpersonal and writing
skills, and the ability to work under multiple deadlines.  A Bachelor's
Degree is required with an advanced degree preferred.  Candidates
considered must have a minimum of three years experience in sponsored
program administration, preferably in an institution of higher
