Grants Manager Specialist and Pre-Award Specialist
Palladian Partners, Inc. Silver Spring, MD, conducts and supports work that improves the health and well-being of Americans and others in the world community. It has exciting opportunities for qualified and motivated individuals who want to be part of a dynamic company and research program to provide grant management and pre-award activity on its TriService Nursing Research Program contract. The country's first and only Federal program that supports and promotes military nursing research, the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) has provided funding to and resources for military nurses since 1992. They seek enthusiastic, organized, customer service-oriented candidates for two positions in research administration.
The Grants Manager Specialist's responsibilities include interacting with principal investigators and others; monitoring research progress and projecting project shortfalls; reviewing progress reports, setting up award data in the database; reviewing and processing project personnel, budget, and protocol actions in a timely manner; coordinating with Grantee Organizations (typically non-profits and academic facilities) to resolve issues; ensuring investigators' compliance with Human/Animal Subjects Protection; participating in site visits and in preparing follow-up report; preparing reports, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs for Program Director; establishing and maintaining grant files; maintaining and updating proposal database; participating in development and administration of policies and procedures for pre-award and post-award grant; performing other work-related duties as requested.
Requirements include: Bachelor's degree, a minimum of two years grants management, and familiarity with federal regulations. Experience in a military or federal government setting is preferred. The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and customer service skills, and have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines.
The Pre-Award Specialist's responsibilities include preparing and mailing of the twice yearly grant proposal announcement; responding to applicant inquires; screening submitted proposals; processing grant applications from submission through funding approval; coordinating activities related to review and funding decision processes; preparing reports, spreadsheets and mailing lists; coordinating with post award activities; interacting with applicants and others; establishing and maintaining grant files; maintaining and updating proposal database; participating in development and administration of policies and procedures for pre-award activities; performing other work-related duties as requested.
Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or three to five years experience in an office or military setting. The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and customer service skills, and have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines; strong computer skills is essential and familiarity with Access databases is highly desirable.
