Re: regs on retaining records

At the University of Cincinnati we retain all records for a minimum of 5
years, longer if the awarding documentation requires it. From everything we
could find (A-110, NIH GPS, CFR, etc.) states 3 years form the date the FSR
was submitted. State regs require us to save all records for 5 years. I
believe contracts used to be 7 years from the final payment but could not
find anything to confirm that in the regs.

Subject: [RESADM-L] regs on retaining records
Resadm-l'ers,
I'm reposting this request since I received no responses to the previous
message, but since the listserv server was misbehaving part of that time,
perhaps some of you overlooked it.
A funding agency is telling us that federal grant regulations dictate that
our personnel records must be retained 7 years. They have indicated that is
is part of the uniform administrative requirements, but I cannot find this
stipulation in A-110. Am I missing something? Is it possible that earlier
versions of A-110 contained a 7-year requirement and the agency is operating
off of old regs?
