Re: regs on retaining records Hawk, Pat 30 Apr 2002 16:22 EST

Molly,

I don't recall earlier versions of A-110 having a 7-year requirement, but
it's possible that whatever statutory authority funded your project requires
the 7-year period. As an example, I recall from my days at EPA that
projects funded by Superfund monies had record retention requirements of 20
years.

It's also possible that your funding agency is quoting their record
retention requirements, which could be different than record retention for
grantees.

Subject: [RESADM-L] regs on retaining records

Resadm-l'ers,

I'm reposting this request since I received no responses to the previous
message, but since the listserv server was misbehaving part of that time,
perhaps some of you overlooked it.

A funding agency is telling us that federal grant regulations dictate that
our personnel records must be retained 7 years. They have indicated that is
is part of the uniform administrative requirements, but I cannot find this
stipulation in A-110. Am I missing something? Is it possible that earlier
versions of A-110 contained a 7-year requirement and the agency is operating
off of old regs?
