We sometimes receive a modification to a USDOEd award that is out of
sequence with the prior documents in our file.  For example, we may receive
mod # 6 and have only up through mod # 2 in our file.  We asked them about
this and they said it is because the mod #'s are generated automatically by
their computer.  If they mess up a mod and have to redo it, then next one
out of the computer is the next number in line.  They can't change it and
they throw away the messed up mods so they can't send them to us.  I need
to know if other grantees are having a similar problem.  Thanks.
