Associate Director of Medical Research

Marshfield Medical Research and Education Foundation, a division of Marshfield Clinic, has a career opportunity available as Associate Director of Medical Research.  The Associate Director will assist the Director of Medical Research in accomplishing the mission of Marshfield Medical Research and Education Foundation (MMREF), to discover and communicate scientific knowledge that substantially improves human health and well-being.  The Associate Director is responsible for operations and administration of MMREF.  Assists the Director in development and execution of strategic and operational plans; in his governance responsibilities to the Foundation Board of Trustees and Marshfield Clinic; and in the coordination of effort among MMREF Research Centers.  Empowers the staff and synchronizes effort of all support systems created to assist scientists in performing their work as efficiently and effectively as possible, to include sponsored programs and fiscal affairs; research information support; facilities; research compliance; research publication support; and biostatistics and bioinformatics.  Has direct responsibility for technology transfer, business planning, and business development.  In coordination with Marshfield Clinic staff, facilitates within MMREF management of human resources, resource development, government relations, and public relations.  Is a member of both Marshfield Clinic Senior Administrative Staff and MMREF Scientific Staff. The Associate Director assists the Director in maintaining a positive organizational climate and emphasizing teamwork in achieving MMREF's scientific objectives and supporting Marshfield Clinic's mission of serving patients through accessible, high quality health care, research, and education.

This position requires a Ph.D. in scientific discipline or in management and a minimum of ten years senior management experience.
