I'm hearing that NSF auditors are requiring more detailed time and effort reporting (hour by hour!) from nonprofits than from universities. Does anyone know of an offical published requirement for this kind of effort reporting?  We are a private, nonprofit research institution. I'd appreciate hearing how similar institutions handle time and effort reporting on NSF grants (and other federal funding).
