Contract Administrator
Office of Research Administration - Brown University is seeking a highly
motivated individual to assist faculty and staff in proposal development
and the administration and negotiation of grant and contract
agreements. This individual would be responsible for proposal review,
negotiation of grants, contracts and other agreements with industry,
federal and non-profit sponsors, and the review, interpretation, and
dissemination of University, federal and non-federal policies for a variety
of issues ranging from technology transfer to cost accountability. The
successful candidate must have 3-5 years experience in research
administration including negotiation of industrial agreements or equivalent
experience, must be familiar with federal patent laws and regulations, must
have a BS or BA with strong interest or background in science, computing
experience, and the ability to work well with faculty, staff, deans, etc.
in a strong service environment. Excellent verbal and written communication

POSTING #2:
Assistant/Associate Director
Office of Research Administration - Brown University is seeking a highly
motivated individual to effectively manage the areas of sponsored projects
administration including the interpretation, application, and dissemination
of regulations, alerting appropriate University officials of changes
affecting research, reviewing proposals, negotiation of contracts
(including federal and non-federal), negotiation of technology licensing
agreements and insuring the appropriate steps are taken by faculty in the
areas of intellectual property, i.e. inventions/patents/copyrights. In
addition, this position is responsible for managing the University's
property inventory in excess of $100 million and the direct supervision of
five employees and overseeing the management of all pre-award functions of
the University. The successful candidate must have 3-5 years experience in
research administration including negotiation of industrial agreements or
equivalent experience, must be familiar with federal patent laws and
regulations, must have a BS or BA with strong interest or background in
science, computing experience, and the ability to work well with faculty,
staff, deans, outside constituents, etc. in a strong service
environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a
must. Supervisory experience preferred. Level of position will be
determined by years and type of research administration experience as well
