Which brings us back to the hapless PI. Are we going to buy Adobe Acrobat for
everyone or will this result in the Res. Admin office having even more work to

Here's the scoop:  If you have ADOBE READER (freeware), you can open them
and type in them, but won't be able to save them.  If you have ADOBE ACROBAT
(which you have to buy), you can save them also.

I saved them and then filled them out with no problems.  Oh, I did find that
on form EE, in the space that calculates the direct costs for year three,
the formula excludes the travel costs.  A minor mistake and easily fixed.
Other than that, I was able to save, fill out, and print the forms.

I haven't looked, but someone in my office reports that the forms cannot be
saved once they are filled out.  How then will the hapless PI be able to
make changes if the research office finds errors??????
