Senior Contract and Grant Specialist - Vacancy Announcement 10759A

Senior position responsible for reviewing and negotiating awards made to the
University; ensuring federal, state and other agency
requirements are met; and for providing recommendations as to the acceptance
of awards and improvements to processing proposals and budgets.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1.  Provide supervision, training, performance assessment, and staff
development activities for assigned team members.

 2.  Assist in the review, negotiation and processing of awards made to the
University.

 3.  Provide recommendations as to the acceptance of awards and improvements
in reviewing, analyzing, and processing      proposals and budgets.

 4.  Keep current in University and governmental policies, rules,
regulations, and practices with respect to contract and proposal
requirements and the administrations of same.

 5.  Ensure federal, state and other agency requirements are met.

6.  Analyze, review, negotiate and process proposals and budgets to various
federal and state agencies, industries and
 foundations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge

Work Related Experience:  3 years related work experience.  Excellent
supervision, communication and interpersonal skills with expert knowledge of
federal government regulations, especially OMB Circulars A-21 and A-110;
in-depth experience in negotiating contracts with industrial concerns and
post-award management experience highly preferred. Experience with Microsoft
Office, Microsoft Excel and NSF FastLane highly preferred.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Office of Sponsored
Programs.  Salary commensurate with experience.
