GRANTS AND CONTRACTS SPECIALIST - UT JOB # 01-4533

Applications are sought for a Grants and Contracts Specialist for the
University of Texas - Houston School of Public Health, Research Services
Center.  UT-Houston School of Public Health is situated in the heart of
the world-renowned Texas Medical Center in culturally diverse Houston,
Texas. The Research Services Center supports and advises faculty and
staff in pre-award research activities including funding searches,
budget and proposal preparation, and obtaining approvals required prior
to funding. It also provides post-award, non financial support. The
office interfaces with UT-Houston research, financial, and legal offices
as well as funding agencies and other universities.

Experience processing grant and contract proposals and a Bachelor's
degree or above are required. Clear and accurate verbal and written
communication skills, as well as proficiency in basic math skills are
also required. The successful applicant will have excellent spreadsheet
and word processing skills, as well as the ability to resolve problems
and make decisions within established policies, procedures and
guidelines while maintaining harmonious relationships with a wide range
of faculty and staff.  Must demonstrate ability to handle confidential
and sensitive information with discretion. This position shows respect

customers.

Responsibilities include processing faculty research proposals and
grants, research data entry, report preparation and compilation,
transmitting research proposal documents including budgets, IRB
approvals, and other documents, and other duties as assigned by the
Assistant Dean for Research.
